I’m so far from perfect. I certainly like to pretend that I’m perfect, but, truth be told, I’m not.

The one thing that I truly want in life is to grow closer to God. But it seems that the more I learn about Him, I realize how much I don’t know! It seems as though each answer I find just creates ten new questions. Also, the more that I learn and grow, the more I realize how far from perfect I really am! I fall so far short of the standard.

But, I am able to know what that standard is, and no matter how many times I fail, no matter how many times I miss the mark, I am going to keep pushing on to reach the standard. It’s going to be a long road, and I’m bound to make countless mistakes along the way. I hope that you can be patient and gracious with me as I figure this out. Besides, as Rob Bell points out, “The point isn’t my failure; it is God’s success in remaking me into the person he originally intended me to be.” ( Velvet Elvis, by Rob Bell)
